Trend Alert! First A.I Bar that Serves Drinks Using Facial Recognition

Have you ever endlessly waited at a bar, hoping for the bartender to turn his gaze towards you but it seems like you’re the only one he can’t see? Well, you’re not alone. In fact, DataSparQ researchers have found that most patrons spend more than two months of their lives waiting for service at a bar!

But fret not, it seems like technology has finally caught up with this thirsty conundrum. An A.I. Bar has opened up in London by the name 5cc Harrild & Sons where needing to queue up for a simple pint is a thing of the past.

With the help of a facial recognition system developed by DataSparQ that puts customers in an ‘intelligently virtual’ queue, customers can now get their order served to them based on when they arrived versus how loud they can shout.

John Wyllie, Managing Director at DataSparQ, said: “The A.I. Bar ensures it’s a hassle-free, first come, first served system that makes ordering drinks more convenient for both drinkers and bar staff alike.”

What’s more? The system can also spot an underage patron and prompt them to have their ID ready or they can let the bartender know if it’s already been checked.

Genius!
