Luxury brand collaborations were a big thing last year, with the Gucci-Balenciaga ‘hack’, and the Fendi-Versace ‘swap’ being the most popular and undoubtedly, the most creative attempts. The collaborations appear to continue this year, but with a twist: the focus is athleisure, and the luxury brands kicking things off are Dior and Prada.

Dior Vibe Collection and the Dior x Technogym mash-up

Actually, both the Dior Vibe capsule collection and the Dior x Technogym collaboration were announced last year; however, their official release was scheduled for this year. The former made its debut at Maria Grazia Chiuri’s Cruise Show 2022 in Athens while the Technogym partnership was announced in the last quarter of 2021.

The Dior Vibe gym wear line comprises sporty bags, sneakers and ready-to-wear pieces like boxing shorts, leggings and sports bras, all emblazoned with the Dior Etoile, Dior Athlet and Dior Oblique prints. You will not be out of place if your first thought was that this collection is a very chic and fashionable yet practical line – apparently, the Maison had the same idea when it set out to create the pieces whose patterns were designed by artist Pietro Ruffo.

And to complete a truly luxe-infused workout is the limited-edition Dior x Technogym equipment that includes a connected treadmill, a gym ball and a multifunctional bench. Dior is certainly cheering you on your fitness journey, but it wants to make sure that you do it in style.

Prada x Adidas Re-Nylon collection

They are also just as fashionable as the Dior Vibe collection, although the Prada-branded Forum, with its chunky, retro silhouette (which comes in both high- and low-top iterations) and triangle triangle-logo Prada pouch, is arguably the winner here.
