LV’s New Male Fragrance Explores Travel and Adventure

Louis Vuitton follows from its recently debuted Nuit de Feu with an all-new male fragrance, Météore. Like all of LV Parfums, this new scent looks to explore the emotions a man feels when travelling, going on an adventure or seeking escape.

Météore was crafted in Grasse by the house’s master perfumer, Jacques Cavallier Belletrud. He wanted to develop something light yet powerful, fresh but capable of delivering a grandiose impact. “Here, freshness is not only a starting point, it becomes a major vector, a backbone around which all the other elements orchestrate and interlace”, he says of this new scent.

This is achieved by mixing together notes of Calabrian bergamot, mandarin and Sicilian orange to hit the nose first, while also incorporating Tunisian neroli whose radiant character further elevates the brightness of citrus. Guatemalan cardamom and Indonesian nutmeg were added into the mix to enhance its depth and give it a distinctive resonance. Lastly, a signature finishing note of Java vetiver was also added, but it has been stripped of its smokiness through a unique distillation process. Instead, it lets the amber nuances, as well as the freshness of grapefruit or damp soil, come through.

It’s an incredibly complex scent and one that comes with an apt pricepoint. Louis Vuitton’s luxurious new Météore is priced at €225 for 100ml, €350 for 200ml or €225 for four 7.5ml travel sprays (approximately from $266 USD to $414 USD, respectively), and would be available on its website from the 28th of August, 2020.
