Iconic Mbano Manor Hotel Officially Opens to Guests

There are many things that make the Mbano Manor Hotel iconic. It is not simply its close proximity to Zambezi National Park and the majestic Victoria Falls, one of the world’s seven wonders. Nor is it its promise of a luxurious experience woven from the front doors to its suites and the numerous activities it offers to its guests.

Mbano Manor’s uniqueness is grounded in its birth and history. Founded by Dr. Mati Nyazema, it is the first luxury boutique hotel conceptualized and developed by a black female Zimbabwean. It is also part of the country’s critical programme launching the National Tourism Recovery and Growth Strategy which took place on the 6th August at the Victoria Falls.

Nestled amongst an ancient teak forest, the hotel consists of 18 private luxury suites and 1 forest villa crafted with a combination of modern and traditional pieces. The exterior design of Mbano Manor Hotel embraces effortless countryside yet offering a modern experience, defined by large bungalow architecture, open-flowing public areas and imposing verandas. The individual suites, scattered across the four-acre estate and generously spaced each with an individual private entrance and veranda, consist of a calming lounge area with high ceiling, a spacious king-sized bedroom, bathroom, dressing room and a private courtyard.

Preservation of nature was paramount in the construction of Mbano Manor. Designed by architect Bruce Rowlands and South African interior designer Ryan Illgner, only two trees were taken down in its construction, thus ensuring that the ecosystem is preserved while adding a rustic, natural aesthetic to the hotel.
