Chopard has designed stylish timepieces for the ultimate golf fan. Dubbed the Chopard Happy Sport Golf Edition, it is the latest version of the company’s flagship ladies timepiece collection, first introduced in 1993.
The timepiece has a frosted green-coloured dial that symbolizes the green, and was made using a stamped metal technique that gives it a raised texture like the freshly mown grass of the fairway. It is covered with two crystals (the transparent glass covering of the face of a timepiece) between which is set five bezel-set diamonds, a mobile golf club and a ball that move freely with its wearer’s movement.
But that is not all the golf elements you get. Its straps are made from calfskin and have the same texture and colour as the dial. The dimple-faceted crown was designed thus for easy grip with golf gloves and to subtly bring to the mind of anyone who looks at it. the dimples in a golf ball.
To ensure and encourage responsible sourcing, the mobile golf club and ball, as well as the 36mm case, are crafted using ethical gold, sourced either from artisanal, small-scale operations regulated by the Alliance for Responsible Mining or from refiners certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council.
The Happy Sport Golf Edition contains an automatic movement with a date function and a 42-hour power reserve. You may not be expecting rain on the golf course, but Chopard definitely wants you to wear the timepiece beyond the green. So, it has made it water-resistant to 30 meters for every other place.
The Chopard Happy Sport Golf Edition comes in two versions: one with a polished gold bezel and the other with diamonds set into the bezel. The former is priced at $9,980 while the latter carries a heftier price tag of $19,700. They are both available on the brand’s official website.
