Aston Martin Pays Tribute to James Bond with a Limited Edition DBS

A brand new special edition Aston Martin has been revealed and it celebrates the 50th anniversary of the James Bond film “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.” The sixth Bond movie was quite a departure from the ones that came before it.

For one it was the first 007 flick that didn’t have the legendary Sean Connery in it. The movie featured Aussie actor George Lazenby in his only stint as the British secret agent.

Secondly, a 1969 Aston Martin DBS was used as the Bond car instead of the famed DB5. Thus, the 2019 DBS Superleggera was chosen as the base to create the latest special edition 007 Aston Martin. Limited to just 50 units, the Aston Martin “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” DBS Superleggera will only be available in the shade of Olive Green, matching the original look of the 1969 DBS. Bespoke grille similar in design to the classic Aston, carbon fiber trim, forged wheels, and special badging on the side complete the special touches on the outside.

Inside the cabin, the special edition gets black leather with gray Alcantara highlighted with red accents, along with special door sills. Buyers can also order a custom black drinks case for the trunk which is designed to fit two bottles of bubbly and four flutes. The bespoke treatment is only limited to the appearance of the car; mechanically, the 007 DBS Superleggera is exactly the same as the standard version.

Which means, it is powered by a 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 that produces 715 horsepower. It can go from zero to 62mph in just 3.4 seconds. The olive green 007 Aston Martin can be yours for £300,000 (roughly $380,000), which is about $72,000 more than the standard GT.
