Following the lockdown precipitated by the Coronavirus pandemic, The George, in line with government’s policies, had to close its doors to the public as the country joined the world to slow the spread of the virus and eliminate it completely. But now, as Nigeria gradually resumes to normalcy and has in fact reached the third stage of the gradual easing of lockdown, The George has announced it is now open.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has required us to raise our demanding standards to an even higher level, with new protocols for the current situation,” the hotel said in a video announcing its reopening. In addition to safety guidelines advised by the NCDC (Nigeria Centre For Disease Control), The George has implemented The Hygiene Experience, an enhanced cleaning and sanitising protocol that includes

– Daily and hourly cleaning of the rooms and certain busy points of the hotel, including room safety seals at the doors of the rooms to reassure guests;

– Rearrangement of the restaurant, bar, poolside and meeting rooms to ensure social distancing.

– Contactless menu

– Restriction of the number of persons in a lift at any given time and

– Discontinuation of buffets.
