The African-Inspired Hair Combs by Byredo

When it comes to luxury beauty products, no one does it quite like Byredo. The Swedish brand founded by Ben Gorman in 2006 has gained a cult following for their unique scents, luxurious lotions and soaps. And, like most luxury brands Byredo has the ability to make us lust after things we never knew we needed. Like, for example,  $300 hand cream squeezer.

Byredo Combs

Such is the case with the brand’s latest release — hair combs.

Byredo Horn combs

These beautifully handcrafted combs come in five distinct shapes. Each comb pays tribute to a powerful woman in African history: think Queen Pharaoh Hatshepsut, the legendary Queen of Sheba and the warrior Queen Aminatu.

Made of zuba horn, a species of cattle, these intricate, usable works of art are made using an ancestral tradition that involves 14 steps of production. The inspired collection launched this week and is exclusively available at Byredo’s Wooster Street location for a limited time.

Not surprisingly these beauties come with a pretty hefty price tag, ranging in price from $110 to $145. However, considering the time, care, and their intricate design we may just be able to justify a triple-digit comb.
